Awana
Awana, which stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, is an international children and youth ministry, focused on learning God’s Word. It began in Chicago, 1950.
Club meetings are based on three components: large group Bible-based lessons, handbook time – individual memorization and understanding, and finally game time.
Clubbers are divided into age groups: Cubbies – 3 and 4 year olds, Sparks – kindergarten through second grade, Truth and Training – 3rd-6th, and our youth ministry is called Trek – 7th through high school.
Awana Night at St. Matthews is every Wednesday beginning with a free family dinner at 5:45, Awana at 6:20 – ending by 8:00. Hope you’ll come and bring a friend!
